Jammu, Apr 04 (KNO): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Saturday said terrorism has no space in Jammu and Kashmir, but no innocent should suffer under any circumstances. Speaking to reporters outside the Assembly, the Deputy CM, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said an inquiry into the Ganderbal incident has already been ordered by the Lieutenant Governor and the government will act based on its findings. “Jammu and Kashmir has faced terrorism for over three decades. Terrorists have no space here or anywhere in the country. At the same time, no innocent should be killed. Let the inquiry report come,” he said. He warned that strict action will be taken if the Ganderbal encounter is found to be fake and stressed that such incidents must not be repeated. The Deputy CM also hit out at the opposition over its criticism of the National Conference’s promises, saying the government is accountable to the people. “We are not working at the behest of the opposition. The Omar Abdullah-led government is the people’s government. We are here to fulfil the promises we made. The opposition should answer about its own commitments,” he added—(KNO)
